The hotel needs renovating, the bar area and rooms are looking tired. The room had no dressing gown or slippers, and no hand soap. Would not call it a 4 star luxury hotel, Bar staff were friendly and polite.

Staying there now for snooker,hotel was booked as 2x twin rooms got there and it’s 2x double. Fell on deaf ears asking for help and rooms we booked been available. The trouble is the hotel is too obsessed with z list snooker players/ex players and officials and pathetic prima Donna football teams so us genuine normal guys that have had their rooms booked for almost 12 months and are repeat customers get the rubbish and get wrong rooms because the place takes too much on. The place is a joke to be honest !!

Amazing Spa Day and Afternoon Tea.Booked as a Mother’s Day gift from my daughter and after having read the reviews on here I was dreading it! They couldn’t have been more wrong …lovely staff and facilities and really fresh and delicious afternoon tea! Would highly recommend ❤️

10 years of poor service

I first reviewed this hotel nearly 10 years ago. At the time I suggested that building and location were good but service was poor. Fast forward 10 years and once again I review the hotel. A series of minor issues this week, compounded by finding out that I am expected to pay an extra £10 per visit to the pool. No notification of this on booking, confirmation, nor on check in. At Paul’s has a monopoly in the city centre of Sheffield and treats guests with disdain.

Broken equipment and Spa- were not told before paying.

Me and a friend booked a day pass for £25 each- were really excited to go as a treat. Were left disappointed- hot/cold shower felt like a regular shower temperature,with the cold not working. Ice room was open but not on, with no ice. The steam room, sauna and aroma room were all poor quality- all rooms were the same- steamy. There was no difference in the temperature or heat of the rooms, which we were expecting, especially because the sauna was supposed to be hot. The thing we found most disappointing was that we weren't made aware of any of the issues beforehand- as we had paid on the day at reception. All of the regulars said this was a common occurance with broken/ poor quality equipment. We ended up staying there for 30 mins before deciding to complain to reception, who said they were hoping for it to be fixed in a few weeks. Even if it was fixed, we both decided we wouldn't come again. Only saving element was that we were refunded quickly.
